Pike Place Market is a public market overlooking the Elliott Bay waterfront in Seattle. The Market opened in 1907, and is one of the oldest continuously operated public farmers’ markets in the USA. It’s a place of business for many farmers, craftspeople and merchants. With more than 10 million visitors annually, it’s one of Seattle’s most popular tourist destinations and is the 33rd most visited tourist attraction in the world.

Fish throwing at Pike Place Market supposedly started as a prank with one of the employees throwing a fish to a fellow unsuspecting co-worker. Good thing they thought fast and caught it! Anyways, the crowd enjoyed the yelling and throwing so much that it became a regular thing. Fish throwing is more popular than ever and is a must-see when you visit the Evergreen State. It’s an interesting place to walk around…
