Whidbey Harvest

A perfect red barn we would pass on our way to peaceful and beautiful Whidbey Island in Washington state. A little about Whidbey…

Whidbey Island is in Puget Sound, north of Seattle. The island’s rugged terrain spans beaches, hills and farmland. On its northwest tip, Deception Pass State Park offers clifftop views, forest trails, and freshwater lakes. To the south, Fort Casey Historical State Park is home to a lighthouse and gun battery. The coastal towns of Oak Harbor, Coupeville and Langley have quaint boutiques, cafes and galleries.

Langley is also a grrreat place to see gray whales close up. They visit in March and April coming very close to shore to feed on the abundant shrimp in the area. To learn more about the whales at Langely, visit the Langley Whale website. See!! They do come close, look at that picture on their homepage. It’s amazing!!

But I wouldn’t want to be a shrimp…
